about

Method:

1.Start to make a concerto with angles of minimalisms, baroqueisticisms, post post postisms, computer disasteric efforts along side a standard studio baby grand.
2. Realize after hours of work approach is terrible but interesting in its own way. Mixing midi with live instrumentation whilst working in a way that is close to improvisation/live recording has many diminishing returns as per compositional integrity. ---- hahahah fuck that keep going and adjust.
2.Live in the time of death, sadness, triumphs, efforts to sit on floor infront of a window while working out bass section when hospital visits, shitting blood, careers are being devastated, arguments are had, legs hurt, pain and more death are there, birthdays and funny holidays are placed or laughed through.
3. Record new piano parts, with broken mic that was on first movement, edit, edit again.... get gifted a violin and try to use it the best you can.
4. Go to a wedding, go to a corner in your mind that finds something more, edit again and try again... listen to mix in parking lot at some crappy hotel after getting drunk with ones who hate you/like you/confused by you/want something better from you/who communicate to you that they are a mess but better at being so then you.
5. Mix and wait.
6. Re-mix/edit, loose tracks to the oblivion of not saving correctly whilst in a pandemic of whatever proportion but existent measure and alarm.
7. Don't listen to for about a year or 2.
8. Publish with a smile and joy and warm hug the reflection and root of piece was reference for.

A = all instruments actioned over the duration of about a year

about

apiano Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Studio baby grand with some quirks and nice curves looking for attention from right player who knows how to hit the keys and let things ride. Likes long sustains and staccato playfulness. Mostly one night 'preformances' are great but a serious commitment is a plus! Into multi-players if the timing is right and or just taking things slow. ... more
